”I have known Mark and Yolie Browne for over 30 years and have watched as in every place they set their feet, they have invested deeply in people’s lives—and seen lives transformed. Mark and Yolie always have time for people—they see them, they listen to them, they are present for them, they love them. Whether it’s befriending someone in the line at Starbucks, welcoming people into their home day or night, or walking with people through devastating grief and loss. They are wise and loving pastors who love God with a passion. They welcome everyone with open arms and open hearts. And they are filled with a contagious joy as they do it. They are like their Shepherd that way. “
-Sally Lloyd-Jones, author of The Jesus Storybook Bible
“Mark was 45 when I first met him in 1995 at a camp, deep in the woods (on the way to the town of Polyany from camp Druzhnih, I think the camp's name was Lada). The moment I met Mark is stamped in my memory. I keep thanking God for that meeting. In 1996 we started working together here in Russia and that work has changed my life. Mark has had a great impact on my life and many other lives of Russian young people."
- Alexander Kotenkov, Vyborg, Russia.
"Mark and Yolie are our understanding of what it means to be people after God's heart. The second hand wisdom that we provide those we disciple comes primarily from Mark and Yolie’s living room. Their actions, however, speak even greater volumes than their words. Their faithfulness and sensitivity to the Spirit is evident in all they do. From where they live to whom they serve. From how they love to how they correct. I thank God for teaching, correcting, and training us in His Righteousness through them. We love them both deeply and covet our next meeting!" - Fr. Robert Balfour, Anglican Priest, San Antonio, Texas, USA
“In September of 1988, I heard my first real sermon. It was given by a young Episcopal priest named S. Mark Browne, and it brilliantly clarified the theological errors of Martin Scorsese’s recent and highly controversial film adaptation of Nikos Kazantzakis’s muddled novel, The Last Temptation of Christ. I have never forgotten that sermon, but in the 33 years since then I have been privileged to become friends with the man who gave it, and therefore to see often and up close the great wisdom, pastoral compassion, spiritual maturity, and good humor that went along with his homiletic gifts and theological insights. In short, it is difficult to imagine anyone coming in contact with him who could fail to be blessed by the experience.” — Eric Metaxas, #1 New York Times Bestselling author of Bonhoeffer
I have known Mark since 1983 when he moved to Waco as a young priest. His knowledge of the Word of God and his pastoral touch combines truth and love as the Gospel teaches. His influence for the Lord on my life had such a positive effect. I eventually left the practice of law and entered the sacred order of priests after seminary. We have continued our friendship and ministry partnership. I have the upmost respect for Mark who would be a very strong gospel influence wherever he ministers. Along with his wife, Yolie, they continue to have such positive effect and influence wherever they go. They have endured hardship and been battle tested. All along, they have kept so close to the Lord and His word. Now, as Lead Bishop in the AMiA, I have the privilege of continued ministry with him and without qualification recommend him for any position where he can minister the gospel in care and clarity. - Philip Jones, Senior Pastor, All Saints Dallas; Lead Bishop, Anglican Mission in America
